RESULTS
Saratoga Springs, N.Y. -- The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams lost to St. Lawrence University in the season openers for both teams. The SLU men won 119-91, while the women won 134-93.
In the men's meet,
Tom Saglimbeni,
Doug Pilawa were double winners, while
John Tyler Norton had a first and a second.
Saglimbeni edged SLU's Rob Sibley by .10 of second to win the 50-yard freestyle in 23.77. He second win came in the 200 butterfly (2:14.47). Pilawa was impressive in his first meet, winning both the 1-meter (265.9) and 3-meter (281.30) diving events with near NCAA III qualifying scores. Norton won the 100 free (52.26) and finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.41).
Sonia Segal-Smith led the women with three wins. She took first in the 200 free (2:06.06), 100 free (57.66), and 200 breast (2:41.36).
Kelsey Carson finished second in the 1000 free (12:03.67) and 200 fly (2:27.02) and contributed a third in the 500 free.
Skidmore will host SUNY Potsdam on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.
