Saratoga Springs, N.Y. –  Senior Laura Michel (Middle Village, N.Y.) scored a game-high 15 point as the Skidmore College women's basketball ended the semester with a 75-30 win over the College of St. Joseph Wednesday night at the Sports and Recreation Center.

The win puts the Thoroughbreds at 3-4 before the winter break, while the Fighting Saints fall to 2-5. 

Skidmore held the lead the entire way and was helped by a 69-33 rebound edge and a 42-0 advantage in  points off the bench.

The Thoroughbreds also forced 20 Fighting Saints turnovers, leading to 29 points. 

Senior Kellye Caufield (Monroe, Ct.) was 4-9 from the field and 1-1 from the line for nine points, while adding eight rebounds.  Freshman Christina Gargiso (Staten Island, N.Y.) chipped in eight points, seven rebounds, four steals , and three assists, while junior Amber Kinsey (Troy, N.Y.) finished with eight points, four rebounds, and three blocks.

For St. Joseph, sophomores Stephanie Greeno (Brandon, Vt.) and Megan Giddings (Rutland Town, Vt.) each posted eight points.

Skidmore will continue action after the holiday break against Messiah in the Holiday Inn-Naismith Classic at Springfield College on Jan. 2.
