Swimming and diving splits with Potsdam

Potsdam, N.Y.--The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their seasons Friday night at SUNY Potsdam. The women beat the Bears 125-104, while the men lost 146-96. 

On the men's side, freshman diver Doug Pilawa broke the Skidmore 1-meter  6-dive record (229.30) and 3-meter  6-dive record (241.10).  He finished second in both events.  Stephen Lento was first in 500 free and Zach Knecht touched for second in 1000 free.  ??Sam Leibenhaut and Tom Saglimbeni  went 1-2 in 100 fly.  John Tyler Norton won the 100 breast.

The women were led by Kristen Zebrowski and Elaine Burns going  1-2 in 1000 free.  Jen Piepenbrink and Jackie Emr finished  1-2 in 500 free and  ?Kelsey Carson won the  200 IM and 100 fly. Allie Little won the 100 back, while ?Sonia Segal-Smith took first in the 100 breast.

Skidmore is at St. Lawrence on Saturday.
