Matt Laraba was hired as the Assistant Crew Coach for the Skidmore College men's and women's programs in January of 2018.
Laraba comes to Skidmore with nine years of experience in the rowing world as a rower, coxswain, and coach. He began as a three-year rower at Lowell High School in Lowell, Mass. before rowing collegiately while attending UMass Lowell, where he graduated in February 2017 with a B.A. in Psychology. While in college, Laraba returned to his alma mater of Lowell High, serving as an assistant coach from 2013-2015. From there, he served as the head coach at Haverhill High School, helping to build that program for three years. Laraba also worked with the Merrimack River Rowing Association, working with rowers of all ages.
A native of Lowell, Laraba currently lives in Saratoga Springs.
