Skidmore College baseball coach Ron Plourde has added Former Oswego State standout John Barnes to his staff.
The Greenwich native helped lead Oswego State to consecutive SUNYAC Championships and trips to the Division III World Series in 2017 and 2018. He will be working with outfielders as well as hitters.
Barnes was selected to the All-SUNYAC Second team in 2017 and 2018 as well as the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team in 2018.
Plourde looks forward to Barnes joining the staff “He brings experience at the highest level, having competed in the college world series. We are excited for him to share his knowledge and energy with our program.”
Prior to attending Oswego State, Barnes graduated from Greenwich high school where he played for current Skidmore assistant coach Duke Beck. He was named Player of the Year in both baseball and football.
