Assistant Coach Eric Thompson enters his 12th season at Skidmore College for Head Coach Ron Plourde. Thompson has served many roles for Skidmore working with infielders, hitters and now serves as pitching coach. According to Plourde “His is an invaluable member of the coaching staff with his versatility and does a great job scouting opponents.”
Thompson is a 1996 graduate of Saint Joseph’s College where he ranks in the top many offensive categories. He was a highly recruited athlete out of Concord High School in New Hampshire where he was an All-State player. Thompson was an extremely versatile player in college who had the unique ability to catch the majority of a game then close the game as a pitcher. He was also a member of the golf team at St. Joseph’s College. Eric is a teacher with the New York state Prison system.
