Duke Beck

Duke Beck, one of the most decorated baseball coaches in New York State history, joins the Skidmore College baseball staff in July 2019. He will assist Head Coach Ronald Plourde with game-planning and player development.
 
Beck recently retired from the Greenwich Central School district after 27 years of dedicated service as a physical education and health teacher. He also served as the varsity baseball coach for 24 years and the varsity basketball coach for 23 years. During his tenure as the baseball coach, Beck’s teams won 425 games, good for a 72% winning percentage. His teams won seven league championships, seven sectional championships, three sectional runners-up, five regional championships, one state championship and one state runner-up. Greenwich baseball qualified for the sectional tournament in each of the 24 years that Beck served as head coach. Beck was the 1999 New York State Class C Coach of the Year. In 2016, Duke was inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame.
