Ducks blank Skidmore, 2-0

HOBOKEN, NJ – The Skidmore College men's soccer team fell on the road at Stevens, 2-0, on Tuesday evening.

The Thoroughbreds (1-2) conceded a pair of goals within the opening 12 minutes and were unable to overcome the early deficit. Although the Skidmore offense generated 17 shots and five corner kicks, the Ducks (2-0-1) defense conceded just a pair of shots on goal to preserve the shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Stevens opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Francesco Bonavita found the back of the net on an unassisted effort.
  • The Ducks doubled their advantage in the 12th minute as Emerson Kekesi scored off an assist from Matthew Murillo.
  • Skidmore increased its attacking pressure after halftime, outshooting Stevens 12-4 in the second half while attempting to erase the two-goal deficit.
  • Senior Colin Goodhines recorded Skidmore's first shot on goal in the 52nd minute. Fellow senior Edo Ferrari registered the Thoroughbreds' other attempt on target in the 71st minute.
