PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Skidmore College women's soccer team delivered a balanced offensive effort in a 3-1 road victory over Plattsburgh on Tuesday evening.
The Thoroughbreds (2-2-1) built a commanding 2-0 halftime lead behind goals from junior
Olivia Chandler and sophomore
Mara Grace, capping a first half in which Skidmore held an 8-2 advantage in shots. After the Cardinals (3-2-3) cut the deficit in half during the second period, first-year
Avery Bush restored the two-goal cushion with her first career goal to seal the victory.

Aila Chase combined for four saves, with Sayers also earning her second victory of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chandler opened the scoring in the 15th minute, launching a shot from nearly 30 yards out on the left side that dropped perfectly into the upper-right corner. Junior Alina Alcantara recorded the assist.
- Grace doubled the Thoroughbreds' lead in the 29th minute, weaving past three Cardinals defenders during a solo run down the right side before curling a shot across goal and inside the left post.
- Plattsburgh cut Skidmore's lead to 2-1 in the 65th minute on a goal from Lilley Keysey.
- Bush restored the two-goal advantage with her first career goal, driving a shot from just outside the box beyond the goalkeeper's leaping reach and into the upper-right corner.
STANDOUT THOROUGHBREDS
- Chandler scored her first goal of the season and fourth of her career.
- Grace recorded her first goal of the season and fourth of her career.
- Bush scored her first career goal while playing 33 minutes off the bench.
- Alcantara registered her second assist of the season and third of her career.
