Keegan Maxwell scored his first career goal in the 85th minute as the Skidmore College men's soccer team rallied to a hard-fought 1-1 tie at Plattsburgh on Wednesday evening.
The Thoroughbreds (1-2-2) fell behind when the Cardinals (2-3-1) broke the scoreless tie in the 83rd minute but responded just two minutes later. Senior

Luke Dougherty, whose one-touch cross found Maxwell for the tying finish.
The evenly played contest featured just five combined shots on goal, while both sides generated three corner kicks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Ethan Benjamin registered Skidmore's first shot on goal in the 26th minute, directing an attempt toward the lower center that was saved by the Plattsburgh goalkeeper.
- Junior goalkeeper Rowan McLear made saves in the 38th and 65th minutes to keep the Cardinals off the board.
- Plattsburgh broke the deadlock in the 83rd minute when Robbie Kapovic finished a feed from Michael Rodriguez.
- Skidmore responded in the 85th minute as Goodhines played a through ball to Dougherty, who sent a one-touch cross into the box for an unmarked Maxwell to tap into the lower-left corner for the equalizer.
