MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Skidmore College softball team won big in game one, but fell by a run in game two to settle for a split at Morrisville State on Wednesday afternoon.

Game 1 – Skidmore 12, Morrisville 3 (5 inn.)
- Skidmore (11-11) pounced with a four-run top of the first that featured five stolen bases, including two each by Sam Waters and Lulu Mickle. Waters tied the program's single-game record with four steals as the Thoroughbreds finished with nine without getting caught.
- Waters also went 3-for-4 in the game and scored three times.
- Sophia Finch scored four runs. She was 2-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.
- Natalie Mayne drove in three runs on a 2-for-2 effort with a pair of runs scored.
- Cortney Somsky reached three times and drove in a pair. She was 2-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch.
- Mallory Allen, who also earned the win in the circle, went 2-for-4 with two RBI. In the circle, she pitched four innings for her sixth win of the year, allowed two earned runs and five hits with three strikeouts.
- Skidmore added on to the lead with a pair in the second to go ahead 6-1 and then had three in the fourth to make it 9-1.
- The Mustangs cut into the deficit with two runs in the fourth before the Thoroughbreds went back over the run-rule threshold by plating three in the fifth for the 12-3 final.

Game 2 – Morrisville 6, Skidmore 5
- It was a low-scoring game until Skidmore took a 4-2 lead with a pair of runs in the fifth and another in the sixth.
- Morrisville came back with a four-spot on the sixth highlighted by a go-ahead, two-run double from Sara Brefka. She then scored what turned out to be a crucial insurance run on a Lindsey Fish single up the middle.
- Delaney Swain drove in Skidmore's fifth run with one out in the top of the seventh, but the would-be tying run was nailed at the plate for the second out, the Mustangs got a line out to end it.
- Mickle and Waters were both 2-for-4 out of the top of the order. Waters scored the first two Skidmore runs on a Mickle single in the first and triple in the fifth.
- Swain went 2-for-4, while Lily Canale was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases.
- Morrisville out-hit the Thoroughbreds 12-9. Fish and Jaiden Bellinger both had three hits.
