BRISTOL, RI – The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team bounced back from a slow start by dominating the final three quarters to earn a 15-9 comeback road victory over Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 5-0 in the first quarter, the Thoroughbreds (4-1) responded by outscoring the Hawks (0-3) 14-3 over the final three periods, as seniors
Julia Cafasso and
Lily Hudner and freshman
Piper Morgan each recorded hat tricks to lead the Skidmore offense.
Playing key roles in the turnaround, Skidmore held a commanding 39-22 edge in shots and a 28-19 advantage in ground balls while forcing 23 Roger Williams turnovers and limiting the Hawks to 11-of-18 on clear attempts. In goal, sophomore
Tatum Walsh made eight saves to earn her fourth career victory.
