SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College baseball team was swept 11-3 and 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at Ferrari Field. The Engineers won all three in the weekend series for the first sweep by either side since Skidmore's in 2022.

Game 1 – Rensselaer 11, Skidmore 3
- RPI went ahead with four runs, including three unearned tallies, in the top of the third inning.
- Neither team cracked the scoreboard until the sixth, when the visitors expanded their lead to seven with three runs highlighted by a Jake Mullins two-run single.
- Skidmore countered with a run in the bottom half of the inning when Jack Riva bounced into a fielder's choice with the bases loaded. Â
- RPI added three more in the eighth and another in the ninth to make it 11-1.
- Aidan Reilly doubled in Tyler Chenever, who got hit by a pitch, in the bottom of the ninth before Jack Collins smacked an opposite field single to score him to make to 11-3 and complete the scoring.
- Michael Lebenson went 2-for-3 for the Engineers with three RBI and a two-run homer in the eighth. He also stole two bases.
- RPI stole seven bases as a team.
- Collins went 3-for-3 for Skidmore and walked twice.
- Engineer starter Liam Riordan allowed four hits (all singles) and one earned runs over 5.1 innings for the win. He walked and struck out four.
- Collins surrendered four runs but only one earned for Skidmore. He gave up three hits, walked four, and struck out five.

Game 2 – Rensselaer 6, Skidmore 1
- RPI took a commanding 4-0 lead in the nightcap in the top of the fifth inning when it scored three times. Engineer pitcher Ben Belliss scored two on a long double to deep right-center to highlight the inning.
- Skidmore scored its lone run, an unearned tally, in the bottom of the fifth.
- Then, after RPI made it 5-1 in the sixth, reliever Charles Modlin entered and retired two hitters in a row to strand a pair and limit the damage.
- Skidmore then left the bases loaded in the home half of the sixth representing the team's best look at a comeback.
- The visitors completed the scoring with one in the sixth.
- RPI out-hit Skidmore 11-6. Walker Abdallah, Danny Nayvelt, Charlie Morse, and Robbie Reddington each had two knocks.
- Modlin went on to pitch 2.2 innings of shutout relief. He allowed just one hit and one walk.
- Belliss earned the win for the Engineers. He allowed one run, none earned, over 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts. RPI pitching struck out 11 Thoroughbreds.

Skidmore will take a long break from divisional play. The Thoroughbreds are scheduled to travel to Castleton on Thursday, April 2, before hosting Westfield State for a non-league doubleheader next Saturday, April 4.
