Skidmore slugs way to 10-5 win over Pitt.-Bradford to improve to 6-1

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Skidmore College baseball team used a six-run fourth inning highlighted by three home runs to pull away from Pitt.-Bradford and earn a 10–5 victory Thursday afternoon. The win is Skidmore's fourth in a row and moves the team to 6-1 on year.

  • Jack Riva had a huge day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. He was a triple short of the cycle.
  • Mac Cady and Landon Schwartzman homered back-to-back to put an exclamation point on the huge fourth inning. Riva's and Cady's were two-run bombs.
  • Skidmore scored 10 runs on 13 hits to secure the win.
  • Pitt.-Bradford opened the scoring with one run in the first inning.
  • Skidmore answered immediately as Matthew O'Neill reached and later scored to tie the game on a Cady triple in the bottom of the first.
  • The Thoroughbreds took the lead in the third inning before erupting in the six-run fourth to push the advantage to 8–1.
  • Skidmore added another run in the fifth inning and one more in the eighth to extend the lead to 10–2.
  • Pitt.-Bradford scored three runs in the ninth inning but could not complete the comeback.
  • Cady and Jack Collins both had two hits and drive in three.
  • Eddie Galvao went 2-for-3 with two walks, a pair of stolen bases, and three runs scored. He also tripled – one of eight Skidmore extra-base hits.
  • Colby Bohnen earned the win, allowing one run on three hits over five innings while striking out five.
  • Griffin Adams delivered a scoreless inning of relief, and Will Markwood recorded the final six outs, striking out four.
