SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's tennis team returned to competition with a 5-2 loss against Smith College on Saturday afternoon.

• First-years Ginevra Muratori and Amelie Gonzalez were the winners in singles for the Thoroughbreds, who are 1-1 in dual matches.
• Muratori worked a 7-5, 6-2 win over Ayla Hauser at No. 1 singles.
• In the second match, Gonzalez fought off a first-set loss to win in three (5-7, 6-4, 6-3) over Smith's Ava Emrich.
• The Bears earned the doubles point with wins in two-out-of-three matches. Ruth Wilson and Mia Rosenberg beat Chin/Wang 6-2.
