POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – For the second straight weekend, freshman
Linnea Kropp set a new diving program record as the Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned a hard-fought road sweep of Vassar on Saturday afternoon.
Kropp broke a 21-year-old record in the 3-meter, six-dive event with a score of 263.70, surpassing the mark set by Lisa Kranz in 2005. Overall, the Thoroughbred women improved to a perfect 4-0 with a 162-129 victory and seven event wins, while the men moved to 3-1 with a 165-115 victory and eight event wins.
FROM HEAD COACH JILL GREENLEAF
"We had an extremely competitive meet today with a strong Vassar team. In addition to strong performances by all four of our divers, our captains impressed me with their leadership. They stepped up in the middle of the meet to demonstrate resilience and change the energy of the meet, both in the pool and on deck. Today was truly a team effort to secure both team victories!"
