Ruby Krop set the program's single-game block record as the Skidmore College women's basketball team demolished visiting William Smith, 62-39, on Saturday afternoon.
- Seven of Krop's eight blocks came in the first half. She also had eight points and 11 rebounds with three steals and an assist; nearly reaching a double-double and triple-double.
- The eight blocks broke Shanley Irving's '05 record of seven which has held since Nov. 23, 2003.
- Skidmore (7-11, 5-6 Liberty League) limited the Herons to just eight points in the first half including two in the second quarter.
- The Thoroughbreds shot 37.5 percent (24-of-64) from the field while limiting the guests to just 25.0 percent (13-of-52).
- Madison Meyer finished with 11 points with three assists, four steals, and four rebounds.
- Sara Hastie had nine points with three steals and a block.
- Skidmore had eight players who recorded at least four points.
- Amelia McCulley had 20 points off the bench for William Smith (3-16, 1-11) with seven rebounds and two assists.
- At the half, Skidmore retained leads of 15-2 in points-off turnovers, 16-4 in paint points, and 17-8 in bench points. The Thoroughbreds led 31-8 at the break and had a 17-point scoring run in the second quarter.
- Skidmore led by as many as 32 in the third quarter before both teams scored 16 in the fourth for the 62-39 final.
- The Thoroughbreds made a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter: two from Rachel Carpenter and another from Haley McCarthy.
- Skidmore has now won 11 consecutive games over William Smith since 2019.
