CANTON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team saw a 24-point third-quarter lead evaporate as St. Lawrence closed the game on a 27-9 fourth-quarter surge to hand the Thoroughbreds a 61-59 Liberty League setback Friday night at Burkman Gymnasium.
- Skidmore (3-9, 1-4 Liberty League) led for 38:46 of the contest and held its largest advantage at 24 with 2:35 left in the third quarter.
- St. Lawrence (9-4, 4-2 Liberty League) outscored Skidmore 27-9 in the fourth, taking its first and only lead of the night in the final seconds.
- Hannah Van Dyke nailed a go-ahead triple with one second remaining to put the Saints up by a point, which proved to be the decisive blow.
- Madison Meyer paced the Thoroughbreds with 18 points on 6-of-19 shooting, adding six rebounds and two steals.
- Ruby Krop added eight points and seven rebounds.
- Sophia Martinez finished with six points, five rebounds, five steals, and three assists.
- Meghan Drury chipped in seven points, while Jenny Shine had seven off the bench.
- Jackie Malley led the Saints with 19 points, while Van Dyke knocked down all five of her 3-point attempts and finished with 17.
- Skidmore shot 39.3 percent (24-of-61) from the field and finished 4-of-19 from 3-point range, while St. Lawrence went 12-of-30 from deep.
- The Thoroughbreds held advantages in points in the paint (30-14) and points off turnovers (16-10), but St. Lawrence's late shooting run flipped the result.
