SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's volleyball team opens its 2025 season on Saturday with a pair of matches at Springfield.

The Thoroughbreds are coming off their second consecutive playoff appearance and are ranked fifth in the recently released Liberty League Preseason Coaches Poll.

A REWIND OF 2024
The Thoroughbreds finished 12-16 overall in 2024 and went 4-4 in the Liberty League and finished in a three-way tie for fourth, earning a postseason berth for the second straight year. The season ended with a hard-fought four-set loss to Clarkson. Earlier in the year, Skidmore beat the Golden Knights in Potsdam for the first time since 2012.

Skidmore also claimed league wins over St. Lawrence, Bard, and Vassar. Skidmore won six out of its final nine matches in the regular season.

THE SCHEDULE AHEAD
After non-league matches against Springfield and Keene State on Saturday, and then another at Williams on Tuesday, the 2025 Skidmore Classic will serve as the home opener Sept. 5–6, featuring matches against Nichols, Johnson & Wales, and Geneseo. Skidmore will also host non-league matches against Plattsburgh (9/20), Manhattanville (9/20), and Middlebury (9/23).

Liberty League play will commence with a weekend trip to Ithaca and RIT Sept. 26-27. Skidmore will then host Union in a showdown on Saturday, Oct. 4. Other conference home matches include Vassar (10/24), Bard (10/25), and Clarkson (11/1).

The Liberty League Tournament will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and conclude Nov. 14-15, hosted by the stop seed.

RETURNING
Skidmore returns a dozen players from the 2024 roster, led by All-Liberty League Second Team honoree
Jazlin Chen, who averaged 2.09 kills and 0.76 blocks per set last season. Each of Skidmore's top nine in sets played from last season are back.

The roster is filled out with the addition of four first-year players.

PROGRAM HISTORY
Skidmore has four Liberty League titles under its belt and has appeared in five NCAA Division III Tournaments.

Lindsay King enters her fourth season in Saratoga Springs. Her record at Skidmore is 34-45 (.430) and owns 46 career head-coaching victories.
