SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Three members of the Skidmore College baseball team were honored last week with all-region honors. Senior Sam Kornet was selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region First Team, as well as the D3Baseball.com All-Region Second Team, while Zachary Leiderman and Chase Siegel both earned spots on the ABCA All-Region Second Team.
 
Sam Kornet (#25, Sr., IF, Medfield, Massachusetts) – ABCA All-Region First Team, D3Baseball.com All-Region Second Team
The Liberty League leader in home runs hit 12 long balls in 2025, tying the single-season program record, and breaking the career homer mark for Skidmore. Kornet hit .340 overall with 11 doubles 45 RBI, and 40 runs. He finished fourth in the league in slugging (.641) and OPS (1.097), and was third in RBI. Kornet also hit .408 in Liberty League contests with seven round trippers. Kornet was voted to the All-Liberty League First Team by the league coaches last month.
 
Zachary Leiderman (#13, Sr., DH, New York, New York) – ABCA All-Region Second Team
Leiderman was the team's leading hitter as senior, finishing with a .359 batting average to go with six home runs, 36 RBI, 14 doubles, and 39 runs scored. Exceptional in the playoffs, Leiderman went 10-for-21 (.476) in five postseason games with three homers and nine driven in. He had nine games of two or more RBI including three in back-to-back tournament games in Ithaca – where he homered in both. Leiderman, despite the all-region nod, was left off the loaded All-Liberty League designated hitter ballot.
 
Chase Siegel (#34, So., P, Westport, Connecticut) – ABCA All-Region Second Team
The Liberty League leader in wins went 9-1 in 2025 to tie the program's single-season win record for a pitcher. He pitched to a 4.11 earned-run average over 65.2 innings of work. He also struck out 59 batters while holding hitters to a sub-.300 batting average. He went seven innings or more in five starts in 2025, including seven-inning starts in both of his playoff appearances – both wins for the Thoroughbreds. Siegel earned a spot on the All-Liberty League First Team last month.
