No. 35 Thoroughbreds dominate Herons in 7-0 sweep

GENEVA, NY – The No. 35 Skidmore College women's tennis team kicked off the weekend road trip with a dominant 7-0 sweep over William Smith on Saturday.

DOUBLES MATCHES
  • The first doubles duo of seniors Konika Dhull and Grace Truong finished a pristine 6-0 after sweeping William Smith's Levine and Magna.
  • In second doubles, the pairing of senior Ella Provost and freshman Mia Sarzynska pulled away for the 6-2 victory over the Herons' duo of Montagne and Haythorn.
  • In third doubles, Skidmore completed the doubles sweep after the duo of junior Beilynn Geiss and sophomore Coco Prokop conceded just one game in the 6-1 victory over William Smith's Kellersman and Pida.
SINGLES MATCHES
  • In first singles, Dhull cruised to a 6-2 set one victory over the Herons' Haythorn, before clutching out the straight sets win in set two, 7-5, after scoring the final two points when the set was initially tied up at 5-5 apiece.
  • In second singles, Truong conceded just three games to William Smith's Levine and came out on top in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
  • In third singles, Provost cruised past the Heron's Kellersman with a nearly-pristine 6-1, 6-0 straight sets victory.
  • In fourth singles, Geiss battled to a 6-3, 6-4 straight sets victory over William Smith's Magna.
  • In fifth singles, freshman Juliette Ceas had a dominant 6-0 set one victory, before closing out the straight sets win in 6-2 fashion over the Heron's Montagne.
  • In sixth singles, Prokop won in 6-2, 6-3 fashion to hand William Smith's Walker the straight sets loss.
UP NEXT
The Thoroughbreds are back in action tomorrow morning by taking on RIT in a 10 AM road matchup.
