SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The No. 35 Skidmore College women's tennis team picked up another conference victory after defeating St. Lawrence, 5-2, at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center on Sunday afternoon.
DOUBLES MATCHES
- In first doubles, the senior duo of Konika Dull and Grace Truong cruised to the 6-2 victory over the Saints' Jespersen and McDermed.
- In second doubles, the pairing of senior Ella Provost and freshman Mia Sarzynska won 6-3 over St. Lawrence's Y. Karena and A. Karena.
- In third doubles, the Skidmore duo of junior Beilynn Geiss and sophomore Coco Prokop rounded out the doubles sweep with a similar 6-3 victory over the Saints' duo of Aksdal-Jansen and Iuri.
SINGLES MATCHES
- In first singles, Dhull picked up a straight sets victory over St. Lawrence's Aksdal-Jansen after winning 6-1 in set one, followed by a 6-3 set two win.
- In second singles, Truong cruised to a straight set 6-2, 6-0 victory over the Saints' Jespersen.
- In fifth singles, Sarzynska completed a comeback three-set victory over St. Lawrence's Iuri after initially losing a closely-contested first set, 6-4, before winning set two 6-2 and clinching the match with a 10-8 third set tiebreak win.
- In sixth singles, freshman Juliette Ceas defeated the Saints' McDermed after picking up a 6-3 first set victory, followed up by a clean 6-0 set two win.
