SAN ANTONIO, TX – The No. 33 Skidmore College women's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by No. 10 Trinity (TX) to round out their Texas spring break trip on Friday morning.
The three-match Texas trip saw the Thoroughbreds face strong competition in the form of the tenth-ranked Tigers as well as No. 9 Wash U. The program also secured a 6-1 victory over Southwestern.
DOUBLES MATCHES
- The Thoroughbreds won three combined games, with the second doubles duo of senior Ella Provost and junior Beilynn Geiss taking a game against Trinity's Kim and Hughes, while the third doubles pairing of sophomore Coco Prokop and freshman Juliette Ceas winning two games against the Tigers' Hill and Tin.
SINGLES MATCHES
- In first singles, senior Konika Dhull lost a hard-fought three-set match against Trinity's Hill after losing the first set 6-1, clutching out a hard-fought 7-5 win in set two, and ultimately losing 10-4 in the third-set tiebreaks.
- In third singles, Provost clutched out a three-set thriller in a match that required tiebreaks in every set. The senior won the first set 7-6 after edging out Trinity's Hughes 8-6 in tiebreaks. In set two, Provost lost 7-5 in the tiebreak to fall 7-6. In the third set, the senior won 10-8 to secure the victory.
- In fourth singles, Prokop won three games before ultimately losing to Trinity's Nabedrick 6-2, 6-1.
- In fifth singles, Geiss fell to the Tigers' Levy after losing 6-2 in set one, as well as 6-3 in set two.
- In sixth singles, Ceas won two games against Trinity's Andrade but lost in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.

The Thoroughbreds are back at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center next Friday to host Bates in a 10:30 AM matchup.
