SAN ANTONIO, TX – No. 33 Skidmore College women's tennis team kicked off a Texas road trip with a 7-0 defeat to No. 9 Washington University in St. Louis at neutral site Trinity (TX) on Tuesday afternoon.
DOUBLES MATCHES
- In third doubles, the Thoroughbreds duo of Coco Prokop and Juliette Ceas took three games before ultimately falling 6-3 to Wash U's Brissett and Slowik.
- The Thoroughbreds also fell in first and second doubles with a pair of 6-0 defeats.
SINGLES MATCHES
- In first singles, senior Konika Dhull lost a competitive three-set battle to the Bears' Archer that saw her win the first set in 6-3 fashion, before losing 6-1 in set two and 6-2 in the third set.
- In second singles, senior Grace Truong fell in straight sets to Wash U's Bui after losing a tightly-contested first set in tie breaks to fall 7-6, before being edged out 6-4 in set two.
- In third singles, senior Ella Provost won a pair of games against Wash U's Lin but ultimately lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
- In fourth singles, junior Beilynn Geiss fell 6-3 in the first set and 6-2 in set two against the Bears' Chiasson.
- In fifth singles, Prokop won four games against Wash U's Edmonds but lost in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
- In sixth singles, Ceas put up a stellar fight against Wash U's Slowik in set one that saw the freshman win four games before ultimately losing the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-0.
