No. 33 Thoroughbreds cruises past Southwestern

Box Score GEORGETOWN, TX – The No. 33 Skidmore College women's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 victory over Southwestern down in the Lone Star state on Thursday evening.

DOUBLES MATCHES
  • In first doubles, the Skidmore senior duo of Konika Dhull and Grace Truong secured a dominant 6-2 victory over Southwestern's Synoski and Lee.
  • In second doubles, senior Ella Provost and junior Beilynn Geiss also won the match in 6-2 fashion over the Pirates' Reynoso and Gracia.
  • Rounding out a doubles sweep in third doubles, the Thoroughbreds pairing of sophomore Coco Prokop and freshman Juliette Ceas swept the Pirates' Duncan and Locke in 6-0 fashion.
SINGLES MATCHES
  • In first singles, Dhull cruised to a straight set 6-2, 6-0 victory over Southwestern's Synoski.
  • In second singles, Truong defeated the Pirates' Locke with a 6-2 set one win that was followed with a 6-1 second set victory.  
  • In third singles, Provost cruised to a 6-1 win in set one, before clinching a competitive 6-4 second set victory over Southwestern's Lee.
  • In fourth singles, Geiss won four games before falling 6-3, 6-1 to Southwestern's Reynoso.
  • In fifth singles, Prokop secured a pair of 6-3, 6-3 set wins to defeat the Pirates' Duncan.
  • In sixth singles, Ceas won in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 over Southwestern's Gracia.

The Thoroughbreds will wrap up their Texas road trip with a match against No. 10 Trinity (TX) tomorrow at 10 AM CT.
