Thoroughbreds return to action, open McCaffery-Wagman Center, with shutout win over Oneonta

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team shut out visiting SUNY Oneonta, 7-0, on Saturday morning in the team's first match at the newly opened indoor courts at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center.
  • Skidmore (2-0) displayed its dominance early on, with just two combined games lost in doubles.
  • Yuval Goodman and Griffin Biernat got a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while William Goethlin and Fletcher King won by the same score at the No. 2 spot.
  • Harrison Gradin and Kyle Lundberg did not drop a game in their win at No. 3.
  • Skidmore did not drop a set in singles while the Red Dragons claimed just a combined total of 14 games across the six matches.
  • Biernat faced the toughest test at No. 2, but he came out on top of Chris Chippari 6-1, 6-4.
  • King also saw some resistance in his straight-set win at No. 3, 6-1, 6-3.
  • Goodman claimed his second victory at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-1). As did Lundberg (6-0, 6-0) and Gradin (6-0, 6-1).
  • Adel Aissaoui claimed victory at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
