ROCHESTER, NY – The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams broke two additional program records and made history with a first-ever team victory on day two of the Don Richards Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
After two days of competition, the Skidmore women's team secured the program's first ever team victory at the Don Richards Invitational after scoring 995 points to place first out of a field of seven teams. On the men's side, the Thoroughbreds clinched a top-three finish after scoring exactly 600 points to place third out of six teams.
The Thoroughbreds first reset the record books during the morning session, when the women's 200 medley relay quartet of senior

Gretchen Gwitt and junior
Kelly Hsu won the event with the top time of 1:47.65, breaking the previous mark of 1:48.23 set last season.
In the evening session, Skidmore wrapped up the weekend in style by resetting the women's 400 free relay program record, tying with RIT for first in 3:36.74. The quartet of Mooney, freshman

Emily Booth and Hsu reset the previous best of 3:37.38 set last season.
"Our team wraps a very successful semester of competition, with our first women's team win at the Don Richards Invite. Every member of our team contributed to the team score and nearly all were season best performances," said head coach
Jill Greenleaf.
"Three college relay records were outstanding, and it was exciting for us to also set 30 lifetime bests! The best is yet to come as we focus on Liberty League championships in February."
MEN'S NOTABLE FINISHERS
- In the 200-medley relay, the Skidmore quartet of sophomore Allen Huseinovic, junior Owen Magoon, senior Brendan Lu and sophomore Thomas Gaughan touched in third with a combined time of 1:37.38.
- Freshman Jaz Liotta finished fifth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:20.73. The freshman also placed fourth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:11.04.
- In the 100 fly, Lu clocked the fifth best time of 51.55.
- Freshman Graham Mahoney touched in second place in the 100 back with a time of 55.61, while junior Henry Brien placed fourth at a time of 59.08.
- Huseinovic placed second in the 200 back with a time of 1:57.29, before Mahoney touched in fourth at a time of 2:00.37.
- In the 400 free relay, the quartet of Gaughan, junior Jonah Vaynshtok, Lu and Magoon finished fourth with a combined time of 3:13.36.
- Competing on the board, senior Tomas Ruiz placed third in the 3-meter dive after recording a score of 332.10.
- On the 1-meter dive, junior Josh Amembal finished fourth with a score of 370.15.
WOMEN'S NOTABLE FINISHERS
- Hunt placed third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:54.81.
- Skidmore took the top-two spots in the 100 fly, with Gwitt taking the win with a time of 58.17 and Hsu touching right after her in second at 58.48.
- In the 200 free, Lan touched in first with a time of 1:57.53.
- Mooney won the 100 breast after clocking in first at 1:08.05.
- In the 100 back, Hunt led the way in second with a time of 1:00.13 to just narrowly beat out junior Jae Mason, who touched in third at 1:00.17. Gwitt placed fourth at a time of 1:00.36.
- Freshman Arianna Matthews finished second in the 1650 free with a time of 18:53.17, before junior Madelynn Booth touched in third with a time of 19:03.73.
- In the 200 back, Hunt clinched second place after clocking in at 2:11.69 while Mason finished fourth in a time of 2:12.76.
- In the 100 free, Hsu touched in second with a time of 53.37 to narrowly beat out Lan's third place finish of 53.72.
- In the 200 breast, Lan finished second after clocking in at 2:33.40 , while Matthews touched in third at a time of 2:35.86 and senior Holly Staats finished fourth at 2:36.81.
- Freshman Lily Splendido touched in first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:24.02.
- Competing on the board, sophomore Lila Tulimieri finished fifth on the 3-meter dive with a score of 298.25.
