POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Skidmore College men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 road loss to Vassar on Saturday afternoon.
The Thoroughbreds (9-3-3, 5-2-1 Liberty League) battled to a deadlock in the first half and through the early portions of the second half, before the Brewers (8-4-3, 4-1-2) finally broke through in the 60
th minute and pulled away late in the match with a pair of insurance goals.
Despite the loss, Skidmore can still secure a top-two seed and a first round bye, but will need help. In addition to winning next weekend's regular season finale, the Thoroughbreds will need either Vassar to tie/lose in one of their remaining two games against RPI and Clarkson, or just a Hobart loss to RPI.
A first seed finish is also still in play, with both a Vassar tie/loss and a Hobart loss to RPI required next weekend.
