Skidmore records 4 defensive saves in 3-0 loss at #23 New Paltz

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Skidmore College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to nationally 23rd-ranked SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Miranda Britton scored all three goals for New Paltz (4-0). She put the Hawks ahead with 1:36 remaining in the first quarter. Amanda Quenneville had the assist. It was New Paltz's fourth shot of the quarter. Victoria Bodnar made two saves prior for Skidmore (2-3) to keep it scoreless.
  • The hosts doubled the lead with 5:27 left in the first half. Britton scored that one unassisted.
  • The third and final goal of the game came with less than two minutes left in the game. Quenneville picked up her second assist on Britton's third goal.
  • New Paltz took 20 corners to Skidmore's seven. Total shots were 20-2, and shots on goal were 14-1.
  • Rachel Tama had 10 shots, seven on goal, for New Paltz, but did not factor into the scoring.

Skidmore will have the weekend off and will play next Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. at home against Vermont State Castleton.
