WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Skidmore College women's volleyball team took a set from host Williams College for the first time since 2018 in a four-set defeat (20-25, 15-25, 25-21, 20-25) to the Ephs on Tuesday evening.

- After winning the third set to extend the match, The Thoroughbreds nearly caught up to the Ephs in the fourth. It was 18-17 Williams when the hosts went on a 4-1 run to get to within three points of clinching it.
- Skidmore (1-7) got to 20 for the third time in four sets, but Williams (2-2) clinched it one point later on a Keely Campuzano kill.
- Madison Manning and Jazlin Chen led Skidmore with eight kills apiece. Manning also tallied four digs and two assists, while Chen finished with three solo blocks.
- Angie Mozrall and Rudi Reyes both finished with seven kills. Mozrall added six digs.
- Catriona Hoelperl had 27 assists (a career high) with five aces and 17 digs.
- Athena Braverman had a team high 19 digs.
- Campuzano was the leader for Williams with 18 kills and a .471 swing percentage. Tatum Baker had 17 digs, a .485 percentage, and tallied 18 digs.
- Skidmore trailed big in the first set before going on a 7-1 run to climb back in it. The teams split the final eight points of the game, allowing the hosts to win the set.
- The Ephs raced to another big lead in set two, scoring 15 of the first 20 points on the way to a 25-15 win.
- The Thoroughbreds led start to finish in the third. After scoring six unanswered points early, Skidmore was able to keep the lead. Williams closed to within one, 22-21, when the Thoroughbreds scored the final three points of the set to stay alive. Hoelperl recorded back-to-back aces for points 24 and 25.
NEXT UP: Skidmore will make the short trip to Union this weekend for a match against Suffolk University on Friday at 6 p.m. and two more against SUNY New Paltz (11 a.m.) and SUNY Oneonta (1 p.m.) on Saturday.
