CANTON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College softball team boarded the bus for the first time in 11 days with a trip to Liberty League foe St. Lawrence University and the Thoroughbreds dropped both games of a doubleheader, 1-0 and 7-1. Skidmore is now 7-25 overall and 1-9 in the conference. The Saints improve to 19-12 and 6-6.

St. Lawrence 1, Skidmore 0
- Skidmore's Hailey Clarke and St. Lawrence's Izzy Melanson, both of whom are freshmen, combined to allow just one run and nine hits with seven strikeouts and just two walks while throwing complete games.
- The lone run came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Allison Kloft singled to right to score Vivian Johnson.
- Johnson singled up the middle with two outs to keep the inning alive.
- The Thoroughbreds threatened in the seventh inning when Mallory Allen led off with a walk and eventually got to third on a pair of outs (sac bunt, groundout).
- Melanson's fifth strikeout of the game closed out the contest.
- Senior catcher Bernie Berner had three of the visitor's four hits, while also recording a stolen base.
- Elle Harrison, a sophomore right fielder, also singled in the loss.
- Maeve Thompson, the leadoff hitter, and Kloft, who batted third, Â both had two hits for the Saints.
- Skidmore left five runners on base and St. Lawrence stranded three.
- Neither team committed an error.

St. Lawrence 7, Skidmore 1
- St. Lawrence scored single runs in the first and second innings, each on singles, for a 2-0 lead.
- A four-run fourth, highlighted by a two-run single by Meredith Rose, put the Saints in front 6-0.
- Bernie Berner singled to open Skidmore's sixth inning and advanced to second on a stolen base. She scored when Rachel Monser singled to right center.
- The Saints added an unearned run in their half of the sixth for the final margin.
- Elle Harrison went 3 for 4 with a stolen base for the Thoroughbreds, who had seven hits.
- Three pitchers combined to allow five earned runs, 11 hits, and one walk with one strikeout in defeat.
- Lefty Sophia Berryhill went the distance for the win, walking two and striking out five.
- The first four baters in SLU's lineup combined for seven hits, five runs, and four runs batted in.
- Vivian Johnson, the shortstop who batted second, was 2 for 4, including a triple, with three runs and an RBI.
