Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Skidmore college men's tennis team traveled to nationally 40
th-ranked Vassar College on Sunday. Skidmore won a pair of matches, but fell to the host Brewers 7-2.
- Skidmore is 3-11 overall and 2-4 in the Liberty League. The Thoroughbreds are tied with Union for sixth.
- Vassar is 12-4 and keeps pace in the league at 6-1 for a tie with Hobart for second.
- Louis Bourn was responsible for two out of the three Skidmore points. Him and Griffin Biernat picked up a win at second doubles 8-4 over Mantell/Zhang.
- Bourn later grinded out a 6-7, 6-1, 10-8 triumph over Almquist in the No. 2 singles match.
- Skidmore competed well in both of the other two doubles matches, but fell in both 8-6.
- Yuval Goodman went to a third set in his singles defeat against Bauermeister.
NEXT UP: Skidmore will fight for a playoff spot next weekend in the final week of the regular season with home matches against Ithaca (Saturday, 10 a.m.) and Union (Sunday, 9 a.m.).
