Women’s lacrosse to host Morgan’s Message® Game on Sunday

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team will host a Morgan's Message® Game on Sunday, April 14 when it hosts SUNY Oneonta in a non-league game at Wachenheim Field at 12 p.m.

Morgan's Message is a non-profit organization that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health struggles within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. The organization aims to expand mental health dialogue by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.

Morgan's Message mission is to amplify stories, resources and expertise to strengthen student-athlete mental health, build a community by and for athletes through peer-to-peer conversations and provide a platform for advocacy.

Morgan Rodgers was a women's lacrosse player at Duke University who, after suffering a devastating knee injury, died in 2019 by suicide at the age of 22. Her family and friends created Morgan's Message and have since been actively spreading the word on college campuses across the country in her name.

Skidmore will be hosting the event to raise awareness for this important cause. The Thoroughbreds will be wearing commemorative Morgan's Message t-shirts during pregame warmups and on the sideline.
