SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College softball team, playing for the first time in two weeks, made its home debut at Wagner Park by hosting a non-league doubleheader against SUNY New Paltz and the Thoroughbreds dropped both games, 7-0 and 8-1. Skidmore is now 2-10 and the Hawks improve to 12-4.

New Paltz 7, Skidmore 0
- Freshman Hailey Clarke had two hits while throwing a complete game for the Thoroughbreds. She had a pair of singles in the batter's box and gave up three earned runs with three strikeouts in 7.0 innings in the circle.
- Senior centerfielder Grace O'Connell also had two hits for Skidmore, which had six in the game.
- New Paltz had four players with multiple hits, including rightfielder Sophia D'Arcangelis, who was 3 for 4 with an RBI, and shortstop Rhionna Bianchini, who was 2 for 3 with two runs.Â
- The Hawks scored two unearned runs in the second inning for a 2-0 lead and doubled their advantage in the next frame with D'Arcangelis picking an RBI with a single. Bianchini scored the fourth run on a steal of home.
- A three-run fourth, which included a two RBI single to center from Kelly Marmorowski, concluded the scoring.
- The best scoring opportunity for the Thoroughbreds came in the bottom of the fourth inning when they had runners on first and third with two outs.
- Senior Lindsay Roman went the distance for the Hawks, striking out eight with no walks.

New Paltz 8, Skidmore 1
- The Thoroughbreds answered a New Paltz run in the first inning with one of their own. With one out, Elle Harrison reached on a bunt. Then, an overthrow on a ground ball in the infield allowed Harrison to score all the way from first.
- New Paltz countered with two runs in the second, one in the third, and two in the fourth for a 6-1 lead.
- Jaycee Filancia had a two run double to left in the second and three others had single runs batted in for the visitors.
- A two RBI single by Nicole Greco made it 8-1 for New Paltz, which finished with 12 hits.
- Filancia had two a single and a double and two RBI and Kelly Marmorowski also knocked out a single and a double, along with one run batted in.
- Sydney Waldon went 4.0 innings to earn the win. Madi Gambino went the distance in taking the loss for Skidmore.
- The Thoroughbreds got one hit apiece from Harrison, O'Connell, and Cortney Somsky.
