ST. LOUIS- The Skidmore College men's tennis team played its first and second of three straight matches against nationally top-10 ranked teams in D-III on Friday. The Thoroughbreds dropped a 6-1 match against #9 before falling to host #7 Washington University.

#9 Trinity (Texas) 6, Skidmore 1

- The Thoroughbreds collected a victory at No. 1 doubles with Nika Mori and Yuval Goodman taking the win in a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-2).
- Trinity captured the doubles point by winning at Nos. 2 and 3. The Tigers then won the first four singles matches that were concluded for a 5-0 lead.
- Fletcher King battled back from a first set loss to win at No. 4 singles, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 to give Skidmore its lone point.
- Louis Bourn went to a tiebreak at No. 2 but lost 6-3, 6-7 (7-1), 1-0 (10-6) and Kyle Lundberg suffered the same fate at No. 5, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-5).

#7 Washington University in St. Louis 5, Skidmore 2
- WashU claimed the point at singles (matches played using D-I rules), but not without a fight. Goodman and Mori went all the way to a tiebreak against Sing/Fox, but dropped the extra session 10-8.
- Griffin Biernat and Harrison Gradin dropped a tight 7-5 decision to Hester/Yamamoto in the second match.
- Skidmore got singles wins at the Nos. 4 and 5 matches. Mori claimed a marathon 7-6, 4-6, 11-9 victory at No. 4 over Hester, while Lundberg got through Fox (6-3, 6-7[2-7], 10-8) at No. 5.
