Thoroughbreds win eighth straight in convincing fashion over Bard

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team defeated visiting Bard College on Saturday afternoon, 65-38, for the team's eighth consecutive win.
 
  • The Thoroughbreds improve to 17-4 overall and 12-2 in the Liberty League.
  • With four regular season games remaining, Skidmore can finish anywhere from first to tied for fourth.
  • Bard is 4-16 and 0-14.
  • Andi Levitz drained four 3-pointers to lead Skidmore with 12 points.
  • Cassie Davidson scored 11 with three rebounds.
  • Julia Blanck and Emmy Plage both scored seven. Blanck had 10 rebounds and two assists, while Plage had a pair of steals.
  • Maddie Hastings had four steals with three rebounds, an assist, and five points.
  • Skidmore's bench matched the entire Bard team with 38 points and posted a 38-3 bench-point advantage.
  • Overall, 13 players had points for the Thoroughbreds.
  • Skidmore also registered a 30-3 margin in points-off-turnovers and led 11-2 in second-chance points.
  • Lexi Miller led all players with 15 points to lead the Raptors. She also had nine rebounds and two steals. Erin Tobes scored 11.
  • The visitors kept it close and it was still within single digits with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. Skidmore rebounded, and went on a 9-2 scoring run to take an 11-point lead, 29-18, into the break.
  • The Thoroughbred advantage remained in double figures through the entirety of the third quarter and swelled to 22 when Skidmore scored the period's final eight points.
  • Skidmore led by as many as 28 in the fourth.   
  • The Thoroughbreds improve their unblemished all-time record against the Raptors to 24-0.
  • Skidmore will look to secure a first-round bye and home semifinal as soon as next weekend.
