POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team won its 12
th consecutive game on Saturday afternoon to close the regular season, 54-46, at Clarkson.

- The Thoroughbreds are 21-4 at the conclusion of the regular season and finished 16-2 in the Liberty League with its record extending 12th win in a row.
- The defending Liberty League champion Skidmore team will be the #2 seed in the upcoming Liberty League Tournament. After a first-round bye, the Thoroughbreds will host either Ithaca or RIT in a semifinal game next Friday, Feb. 23. With a win, Skidmore can either travel to top-seeded Vassar for the championship on Sunday, Feb. 25, or host either St. Lawrence or Union.
- Skidmore needs two more wins to tie last year's program win record of 23.
- Against Clarkson, four players (Becca Horger, Cassie Davidson, Sarah Chambers, Madison Meyer) each scored 11 points to account for all but 10 of Skidmore's 54 points. Horger added five rebounds and four assists, Davidson had three steals, Chambers pulled down five rebounds and blocked two shots, and Meyer finished with three assists and three rebounds.
- Additionally, Maddie Hastings had a game high 13 rebounds to go with her three points and three assists. Emmy Plage scored four with nine boards.
- The game was tight throughout. Skidmore held the lead for just over 81 percent of the contest but was never ahead by more than nine. There were six lead changes, however, with eight tied scores over the course of the tilt. Clarkson was last ahead by one, 24-23, early in the third quarter. Skidmore responded with its largest scoring run of the afternoon with seven in a row. Davidson scored the first two buckets of the stretch and got a steal leading to a Chambers 3-pointer to put Skidmore up 30-24 with 6:30 left in the third.
- Later, another Chambers triple gave the Thoroughbreds a nine-point, 37-28 advantage.
- The hosts were able to hang around, and with 3:09 left in the fourth Cassidy Dumont laid it off the glass and in to make it a three-point Skidmore lead. Meyer responded on Skidmore's next trip down, dropping in a lay-up, and the Thoroughbreds were able to escape with the win after Clarkson missed four straight lay ups in the final 2:06.
- Skidmore controlled the glass, particularly on offense, finishing with a 19-7 edge in offensive rebounds. The Thoroughbreds turned it into an 8-4 advantage in second-chance points. Skidmore also pushed the pace, at times, posting a 7-0 margin in fast-break points.
- Bella Doyle had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Clarkson. Dumont finished with 13.
- Skidmore has won seven in a row against Clarkson and 11 out of the last 12.
