SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision to Hamilton College in the Consolation Game of the 2024 Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
- Skidmore, ranked 12th nationally, is 5-4.
- Hamilton, after losing to Fredonia on Saturday, is 4-2. The Continentals entered the tournament ranked 12th in one poll and were receiving votes in the other.
- Five different players scored for Hamilton. James Philpott, Grisha Gotevets, and Luke Tchor each finished with a goal and an assist.
- Noah Leibl and Devon de Vries had the other Hamilton goals.
- After falling behind 5-0, Skidmore scored the final two goals of the game. Mitchell Floccare put the Thoroughbreds on the board with 2:21 remaining in the second period on the power play. Coleman Jenkins and Evan Brown assisted.
- Jenkins finished with a goal and an assist after scoring with 4:50 remaining in the game to complete the scoring. Jaden York assisted.
- Skidmore went 1-for-2 on the power play. Hamilton was scoreless in three chances.
- Charlie Archer made 26 saves, including 14 in the third period, in the win for Hamilton.
- Tommy Aitken stopped 18-of-19 shots in relief for Skidmore.
- In the championship game, Lake Forest College defeated Fredonia State 4-0 to be crowned tournament champions.

- Skidmore will finish the calendar year of competition next weekend on the road at UMass Boston.
