SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's soccer team secured a 1-0 win over visiting Bard on Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field in the final match of the regular season.
  • Skidmore has secured the #3 seed in the Liberty League and will host #6 Ithaca on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Round of the Liberty League Tournament. The Thoroughbreds wrap up the regular season 6-3-3 overall and 5-2-2 for 17 points in the Liberty League.
  • Skidmore struck early in the 17th minute with the game's only goal by Connor Mansfield, assisted by Gavin Wheeler. It was a header from in tight after a perfectly-placed Wheeler insert on a Thoroughbred corner.

  • Bard had a few point-blank opportunities in the second half. Devall was there to make the save for them all.
  • The game featured multiple cautions, with Bard's Brandon Alchy receiving a red card in the 85th minute, leaving Bard a man down for the closing minutes trying to find the equalizer. Six out of the 10 yellow cards shown went to the Raptors.

  • Bard led in shots with 12 compared to Skidmore's nine. Bard also placed eight shots on goal, all of which were saved by Devall.
