Skidmore concludes fall competition on day two of Skidmore Open

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The Skidmore College men's tennis team wrapped up a successful Fall season with a pair of doubles quarterfinals and singles consolation matches on day two of the Skidmore Open on Sunday.

SINGLES PERFORMERS
  • Sophomore Adel Aissaoui won the "Adirondack" consolation bracket after defeating Golan Geoff of Bowdoin 6-2, 6-4 in the Semifinals, before then being awarded the finals win over Wesleyan's Jex Frankel due to his opponent forfeiting the round.
  • In the "Skidmore" consolation bracket, sophomore Yuval Goodman advanced to the semifinals round after advancing from his initial match due to injury for his opponent. However, the semifinals round matches were never contested.
DOUBLES PERFORMERS
  • Continuing their competition in the "Springs" flight, Nika Mori and Fletcher King fell in the semi-finals round to Swarthmore's Nicholas Choo and Michael Melnikov in a closely fought 7-5 match.
  • In the "Thoroughbred" flight, the duo of Griffin Biernat and Goodman bowed out in the semi-finals round to Bowdoin's Pieter Breuker and Kiran Karapati 6-4.
UP NEXT
The Thoroughbreds will next be on the courts in the Spring for the dual season.
