Thoroughbreds begin road trip with 70-29 win at Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team showcased stingy defense and a plethora of offensive contributors in a 70-29 road win at Bard on Friday.
 
  • It is the second time Skidmore has held an opponent to under 30 points this year (Dec. 1 vs. Clarkson). Skidmore did it twice last season, both against Bard, and only five other times since the start of the 2003-04 season.
  • The Thoroughbreds allowed just 17 points through the first three quarters before the Raptors eclipsed their first-half total, 10, with 12 points in the fourth period.
  • Skidmore had 12 players score points, including 10 with at least five. Andi Levitz led with nine. Julia Blanck and Sarah Chambers had eight. Madison Meyer scored seven along with Claudia Schneider. Emilija Jakumaite and Emmy Plage both had six. Maddie Hastings, Cassie Davidson, and Becca Horger all had five.
  • Blanck led in rebounds with 11. Plage had seven.
  • Skidmore finished with 14 assists. Seven different players had two.
  • Blanck, Davidson, and Sara Hastie each finished with two blocks. Plage, Jakumaite, and Horger each had two steals.
  • Skidmore finished with advantages in rebounds (49-26), bench points (43-6), blocks (9-1), steals (9-5), points off turnovers (24-4), and second chance points (21-2).
  • Bard scored 24 out of its 29 points in the paint. Lexi Miller led the Raptors with eight points, six rebounds, and two assists.
  • Skidmore is 12-4 and 7-2 in the Liberty League. Bard is 4-11 and 0-9.
  • Bard has not defeated Skidmore in 23 attempts since joining the Liberty League.
NEXT UP: Skidmore will complete the trip at Ithaca on Saturday at 2 p.m. in a rematch of the 2023 conference title game.
