SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College volleyball team went 1-1 on Friday to open the 2023 Skidmore Classic. The Thoroughbreds erased a deficit to win in four sets over Oneonta (20-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-19) before falling to Morrisville (25-20, 25-18, 25-18).

Skidmore 3, Oneonta 1
- After the sides split the first two sets, Skidmore erased a 14-9 third-set deficit with 16 unanswered points to freeze the Red Dragons at 14 and take a two-games-to-one lead.
- The back-and-forth deciding set featured eight tie scores and five lead changes, but Skidmore used another late run with five unanswered points as part of a 9-2 closing run to clinch it.
- Jo Blanco led the way for Skidmore with her second double-double of the season. She finished with 12 kills and 14 digs to go along with two assists and a block.
- Carolyn Scott posted eight kills and nine digs with four blocks.
- Ella Harris had seven kills, four digs, and two blocks.
- Skidmore walked away with a 14-12 advantage in blocks. Jazlin Chen led with six total, including four solo blocks.
- Maya Stolarz tallied four blocks.
- Noa Berger and Tiffany Flores shared setting duties with 17 and 15 assists, respectively.
- Skidmore hit at .127 for the match. Oneonta finished with a .021 percentage.

Morrisville 3, Skidmore 0
- The second match of the night for both teams left them both with splits on the evening.
- Skidmore's only lead of the match came early in the first set, when it scored six out of the first eight points.
- Morrisville responded with a 13-1 run and didn't trail the rest of the way in the sweep.
- Scott and Blanco led Skidmore with six kills apiece.
- Harris and Angie Mozrall each contributed a pair of blocks.
- Blanco also added a team high eight digs. Gabby Imburgia and Ella Kretten were each credited with seven.
- Berger tallied 10 more assists, while Emma Ferrigno posted five.
- Morrisville was paced by Emily Huppee with 19 kills and 10 digs with a .412 swing percentage.
- Keelin Baker had 13 kills and seven digs for the Mustangs.
