SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey team came out on the short end of an offensive battle, 5-4 to SUNY New Paltz, Wednesday afternoon at Wagner Park. It was the first loss of the season for the 2-1 Thoroughbreds, while the Hawks remain unbeaten at 4-0.

** The teams had only allowed a combined three goals entering the game, but that went out window early with a combined three goals in the first 10 9:46 and six total in the first half.

Abby Ezickson gave the Thoroughbreds a 1-0 lead from
Brooke Golden at 3:37. The Hawks got the next two to lead 2-1 at the quarter.
Arianna Spiezio tied it off a rebound from an Ezickson rocket at 20:16, but Miranda Britton scored her second of the game for New Paltz at 20:47 for a 3-2 lead.
Mia Angwin evened it for the Thoroughbreds one minute later from
Kayla Hassett.

Brooke Tunnicliffe put Skidmore in front 4-3 off a well-placed pass from Anna D'Amoore at 32:14.
** New Paltz tied it at 48:50 on Britton's third goal and then Rachel Tama got the game-winner off a rebound in traffic at 50:08.
** The Hawks had a 20-9 shot and 10-6 corner advantage.
Victoria Bodnar had all seven of her saves in the fourth quarter for the Thoroughbreds.
