Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Skidmore ties Trinity 0-0 to remain unbeaten

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to four games with a 0-0 tie against Trinity College Sunday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds are off to a 2-0-2 start, while Trinity is 0-1-2.
  • Scoring chances were few and far between as both defenses held strong throughout the game.
  • Skidmore's best opportunity came in the 35th minute when the Thoroughbreds threatened off a corner. Katheryn Dunn's original shot was blocked and Ella Stone collected the ball in the box and fired a shot that just caught the right post.
  • Trinity had an open shot from inside the box off a restart with 2:00 to play in the first half, but Alyssa Kane's shot sailed high.
  • Shots were 12-11 Trinity, while The Bantams had a 5-2 corner advantage.
  • Avery Rogers (2) and Claire Wolgast (3) combined for five saves in the shutout. Mariana Cournoyer recorded five saves for Trinity.
  • It was a homecoming for Bantam Coach Rachael Schroeder '08 who stared for four years for the Thoroughbreds, earning first team Liberty League and first team all-region honors her senior year.
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore will play its fifth straight home game Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. against SUNY Plattsburgh.
