Thoroughbred streak halted by #3 Middlebury

WILTON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision against nationally third-ranked Middlebury College on Sunday afternoon.
 
  • The match was Skidmore's third in three days. The thoroughbreds finish the weekend 2-1 after seeing its four-match win streak to start the semester cut off.
  • The Panthers improve to 3-1.
  • Brendan Jimenez and Nika Mori got Skidmore's point at first doubles. The pair beat Middlebury's top team, 8-4.
  • The two also went to three sets in their singles matches.
  • Jimenez fall at first singles after forcing a third set when he dropped the first: 7-5, 6-7, 6-4.
  • Mori did the same. A second-set win forced a deciding third set at fourth singles: 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore will hit the court next on Sunday, March 12 in Orlando, Florida in an exhibition match against Millsaps College. The Thoroughbreds will then play four matches in four days in Florida.
