Nic Sodi defended his Liberty League 1650 championship in a big way Saturday. The standout sophomore also hit the NCAA III B qualifying mark with his time of 16:07.76.

Sodi pulled away from the field in the final laps, finishing more than nine seconds ahead of the second-place finisher from Ithaca. He was nearly 11 seconds faster than his 2022 winning effort. He broke the championship record 16:10.81 set in 2020. Sodi also broke his 1000 free record by 10 seconds during the race with a 9:43.47.

The win highlighted the final day accomplishments for the Thoroughbreds in the four-day meet held at the Ithaca College Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.

- Liam Keating set the 200 breast record with his third place time of 2:06.61. Alex Jefferson was 17th (2:18.69).
- The men's 400 free relay team of Gavin Schiavi, Keating, Sodi, and Brendan Lu finished sixth in a record time of 3:11.98.
- Lu lowered his own 100 free record with his 12th place finish time of 47.53. Schiavi was 15th (48.20) and Will Quinn 21st (49.02).
- Rachel Olson placed fifth in the 200 breast (2:25.10). Ella Palmet was 11th (2:31.79), Molly Jordan 18th (2:36.96) and Holly Staats 21st (2:38.49).
- In addition to Sodi, Brandon Lis was 12th in the 1650 (16:54.89) and Miles Herman 14th (17:09.42).
- April Cook was 12th in the 1650 women's event in 18:31.42. Sadie Lyons took 22nd (19:24.07).
- Lizzie Day took ninth in the 100 free (53.72), while Lydia Walker was 20th (55.51).
- Diver Tomas Ruiz took eighth in the 3M with a finals total of 307.85.
- The women's 400 free relay of Rachel Olson, Lydia Walker, Gretchen Gwitt, and Lizzie Day was seventh in 3:38.85.
- Ginny Hunt was 11th in the 200 back (2:11.59) and Chloe Kim 21st (2:16.92).
- David Marcello finished 18th in the 200 breast (2:18.87).
- Keegan Scharoun finished 10th in the 200 back in 1:59.76. Ethan Hull was 14th (2:02.69).
- The men had their best result in meet history, finishing fourth in the 10-team event. RIT won, followed by Ithaca, Rensselaer, Skidmore, Union, Clarkson, Vassar, St. Lawrence, Bard, and Hobart.
- The women took sixth. Ithaca took first, followed by Vassar, Rensselaer, RIT, St. Lawrence, Skidmore, Union, Clarkson, William Smith, and Bard.
- COACH Jill Greenleaf: "It was an amazing Liberty League meet this week. Simply, I can't think of another championship I've coached at Skidmore where EVERY athlete performed so well. The energy this group drew from each other session after session just continued to drive them forward. I'm so proud of our 12 seniors for the leadership they provided at this meet and throughout their careers."
