Success continues for Skidmore swimming and diving

DAY 3 RESULTS

ITHACA, N.Y.— The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued to rack up the records on day three of the Liberty League Championships being contested at the Ithaca College Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium. The meet concludes on Saturday.
 
  • Diver Sophia May qualified for the NCAA Division III Regionals and set the college record with her score of 406.75 in the 1-Meter event. She will travel to New York next week for a shot at qualifying for the NCAA III Championships.
  • Nic Sodi took down another team record. This time in the 200 back with a 1:52.75 in a time trial.
  • Lizzie Day led off the 800 free relay with a 200 free record of 1:56.55.The team of Day, Chloe Kim, Lydia Walker, and Rachel Olson finished sixth in a record time of 7:55.25.
  • Gretchen Gwitt finished fourth in the 200 fly with a record 2:10.67. Walker was 13th (2:20.54), just in front of teammate Emily Czelusniak in 14th (2:22.93).
  • Liam Keating broke the 100 breast record with his seventh place finishing time of 57.34. Gavin Schiavi was 18th (1:01.20), David Marcello 19th (1:02.24) and Alex Jefferson 22nd (1:02.69).
  • Olson was sixth in the 100 breast (1:07.04). Elissa Miller was 17th (1:11.77) and Holly Staats was 21st (1:12.20).
  • Ella Palmet took eighth in the 100 back (59.75). Ginny Hunt finished 18th (1:01.65) and Kim was 24th (1:03.05).
  • Keegan Scharoun finished 11th in the 100 back (54.02). Brandon Lis was 16th (55.65), Ethan Hull 19th (56.39) and Will Quinn 20th (56.80).
  • Miles Herman placed 17th in the 200 fly (2:02.03).
  • The men's 800 free relay was seventh. Herman, Scharoun, Lis, and Quinn finished in 7:21.67.
  • Heading into the final day, the men are in fourth place with RIT in first. The women are fifth with Ithaca leading.
