POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team dropped a 64-51 decision at Vassar on Wednesday.

- Skidmore had previously won the last five meetings against Vassar, all last season. The Thoroughbreds were 77-66 winners over the Brewers in the Liberty League semis in February.
- Vassar had four players in double figures, led by Sierra McDermed with 20 points and 10 rebounds. She was 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Vassar for 8-of-17 from deep as a team.
- Julia Blanck matched with a 20-point, 10-rebound performance of her own to lead the Thoroughbreds. She also added two steals, two blocks, and an assist. Emmy Plage dropped 10 points with three rebounds.
- Becca Horger and Amelia Medolla both added six points. Horger also tallied five steals, three rebounds, and three assists.
- Vassar (44.4 percent) shot north of 40 percent in three out of the four quarters and went 16-for-17 (94.1 percent) at the free-throw line to get past the Thoroughbreds. The first-place Brewers already have wins over defending league champion Skidmore and regular season champion and tournament runner-up Ithaca. Vassar is 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the Liberty League.
- Skidmore is 6-3 and 2-1.
- Vassar used a strong 19-9 first quarter to get ahead before Skidmore trucked back and turned it into a one-point game, 26-25, on a Plage 3-pointer with 3:25 remaining in the first half. The Brewers led by three at the break.
- The hosts jumped ahead again in the third by ending the period on a 7-0 run to take an 11-point advantage into the final 10 minutes.
- Vassar led by as many as 15 points in the fourth before posting the 13-point margin.
