Thoroughbreds run past Camels to remain unbeaten

HARTFORD, Conn.—The Skidmore College women's basketball team used a 10-0 third quarter run on the way to a 61-48 win over Connecticut College Friday night in the first round of the Trinity College Tip Off Tournament. The 4-0 Thoroughbreds will play the host school in Saturday's championship game at 3 p.m. The Bantams beat Albertus Magnus 72-51.
 
  • Andi Levitz led the Thoroughbreds with 20 points off the bench. Cassie Davidson scored 15 and had seven rebounds, while Emmy Plage added 10 points.
  • Skidmore outscored the Camels 25-11 in the third quarter, to open a 54-29 lead. Davidson scored the team's first 10 points of the stanza in a 2:04 span to key the run.
  • Conn College scored the game's final 10 points in the closing minutes for the 61-48 final.
  • Keyed by Levitz and Plage, the Thoroughbred bench outscored the Camels 35-18.
  • Levitz was 7-9 from the floor, including 6-8 from behind the arc.
  • Skidmore as 11-19 from three-point range (57.9%).
  • Trinity will be the third NESCAC opponent of the young season. The Thoroughbreds have NESCAC wins over Middlebury and Conn College.
