SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. –
Hannah Fetzer scored the first goal of her career in the 85
th minute to help the Skidmore College women's soccer team to a 1-1 tie with visiting Union College on Wednesday evening.

- Fetzer had an open net for the equalizer after Izzy Sullivan chased down an Ashley Downes insert immediately off a Thoroughbred throw in. Sullivan beat her mark and the goalkeeper to the ball before dishing it to Fetzer streaking through.
- Both Sullivan and Downes got assists.
- Union went up with a Vanessa Jorgensen tally in the 9th minute. She received a leading pass from Taylor Bovardi and was able to make a quick move to beat Skidmore keeper Claire Wolgast.
- Both Wolgast and Union goalie, Rachel Berliner, were otherwise unscathed.
- Wolgast finished with three saves. Berliner had seven.
- After a slight 6-5 edge in shots in the first half, the Thoroughbreds outpaced the Garnet Chargers 12-2 over the final 45 to finish with an 18-7 edge in shots. Shots on goal were 8-4.
- Before Skidmore ultimately scored the tying goal, Downes' header off a Skidmore corner in the 66th minute clunked off the crossbar and out.
- Skidmore, with its sixth tie of the year, is 5-4-6 overall and 0-4-4 in the Liberty League with one game to go. Union is 6-7-2 and 2-4-2 with a playoff spot on the line ahead of its final contest.
